Boxanagar H.S School was established in the year 1946 as a primary school when Tripura was a princely state and was upgraded from high to higher secondary school in the year 1984 with Arts Stream. Now, the school has all the three streams arts(humanities), science and commerce. The school is located in the rural area of Tripura and managed by the school education department of Tripura. The school comes under the district Sepahijala of the state. The school is approachable by road and the nearest railway station is Bishalgarh railway station. The school is surrounded by scenic views and is located near Boxanagar Buddha Stupa, a heritage site recognized by the government of Tripura.
